Frequently asked questions
FAQ
Questions I am asked often
- Yes. Online sessions are available across Greece and for Greeks living abroad. They take place by video call and include assessment, a personalised plan and follow-up.
- There is no visitable dietetic practice. Sessions take place online and as home visits in selected areas of Thessaloniki, by arrangement.
- A detailed history is taken and we discuss eating habits, daily life, preferences and goals. From there we set up the right form of nutrition support and follow-up.
- InBody body-composition analysis is available during home visits. For online sessions you receive instructions for taking reliable weight and circumference measurements at home.
- Yes. Paediatric nutrition support can help the family organise meals and handle picky eating with a practical, supportive approach that takes the child's history and needs into account.
- Personalised clinical nutrition support is provided based on your history and medical diagnosis, in collaboration with your treating physician where required.
- Home visits are available in the areas listed on the relevant page. Availability is confirmed when we speak, depending on the area and the schedule.
- To change or cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours' notice.
- Requests are usually answered within one working day.
- No. The goal is not perfection but consistency and gradually building habits that can be sustained. An off-plan meal or a difficult day does not cancel the effort. In sessions we work on how you return to your habits without guilt and without all-or-nothing thinking.
- Mindful eating means observing, with greater awareness, your hunger, fullness, thoughts, feelings and the circumstances that influence your eating. It is not another diet or a set of prohibitions. It is a tool that helps you build a more balanced relationship with food and greater autonomy in your choices.
- No. The plan includes food exchanges and alternatives so you can adapt meals to your preferences, your schedule and what you have available. Through the sessions you learn to make functional substitutions and gradually put together balanced meals yourself.
- The approach is based on responsive feeding and Ellyn Satter's division-of-responsibility model. Parents organise the what, when and where of the meal, while the child decides whether and how much to eat. We work on stable meal structure, neutral repeated exposure to foods and a positive atmosphere at the table, without pressure, coercion or rewarding with food.
- The free intro call is an optional 10-minute conversation, by phone or online, for new enquirers. We can briefly discuss why you are getting in touch and see which format fits your needs best. It is not a dietetic consultation and does not include assessment of your history, personalised nutrition advice, measurements or a nutrition plan.
- You learn how to use food exchanges and alternatives, put together balanced meals and apply the principles of mindful eating. Alongside that, the basic principles of brain biochemistry, the reward system and the hormonal regulation of hunger and fullness are explained in accessible terms. We also look at how sleep, stress, emotion, physical activity and meal structure can influence your choices and your overall eating behaviour.
